A RENOWNED jazz duo is set to visit York next month in a show that critics say will appeal to both jazz newbies and enthusiasts alike.
Ian Millar & Dominic Spencer, a saxophone and piano duo from Scotland who have been called the UK’s hardest working jazz group, are set to take over Strensall and Towthorpe Village Hall on Saturday October 12.
In a review by Three Weeks Magazine, the duo are described as having "very cool music played in a magical atmosphere - this will appeal to jazz novices as well as hardcore enthusiasts."

Ian and Dominic are well known to Edinburgh Fringe goers after years of sold out shows at the yearly festival.
They are also considered unique within the UK jazz community with the way in which they take their jazz to rural communities across the country and use programmable lighting to create an intimate atmosphere for listeners to enjoy.
Playing a mixture of original songs and covers, their style of jazz concentrates on developing melodic ideas within the framework of the melody of a tune, whilst maintaining the concept and groove behind it.
As well as the music, they tell stories of travelling in their tour bus - an old, converted Yorkshire Ambulance – combining the music with stories of their travels.
Ian said: “We are delighted to be performing all over the UK in a variety of venues with many sell out concerts and record sales in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.”
Dominic continued: “We are now also making many return visits to venues up and down the country. Throughout lock down we called ourselves the Socially Distanced Duo now we’re getting out and meeting our audience again!”
