A YORK beauty salon now owned by a former apprentice who started there in 2019 has received a nomination for an award.
You Little Beauty in Fulford has been nominated by readers of The York Press as a contender in our Best Beauty Salon competition.
Readers can vote for the Best Beauty Salon 2024 by picking up a copy of The Press newspaper until Saturday, October 12, with the winner set to be announced in the week commencing October 21.
Owner Drew Dixon said: ”It was truly an incredible feeling to be nominated!

The business celebrated its seventh birthday in August and had a refurbishment and re-launch party this year for all its clients, family and friends.
Drew said there are a busy team of four therapists including herself and the business also collaborates with Summer Atkinson, who provides aesthetic treatments at the salon in Main Street.
The salon specialises in waxing, spray tans and LVL lash lifts, acrylic nails, gel manicures and massage, Dermaplaning facials and lash extensions.
Drew said: “We specialise in a variety of services designed to help our clients look and feel their best.
“From a full range of beauty treatments to skincare and aesthetic services, we focus on providing top-notch care and attention to detail in everything we do.
“It's all about creating a personalised experience tailored to our clients’ needs and preferences.
“We do our best to accommodate our clients by offering flexible opening hours that suit their needs and lifestyles.
“Our clients often rave about the personalised service and the attention to detail they receive at our salon."
Drew said the vibe in the salon is all about creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where they feel comfortable and pampered.
She said: “We strive to make it a relaxing and enjoyable experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
“It's all about providing a space where you can unwind, have a laugh, open up, have cuppa, and get pampered all under one roof!
“We want visits to our salon to be a treat for our clients and something they enjoy and look forward to and we always do what we can to make them feel that way.”
Drew said the business is loyally supported by the local community and it likes to give back when it has the opportunity.
She said she is an animal lover and ‘super proud’ of the partnership she set up with York RSPCA where used towels and linen are donated to help the charity out.
The company said it also recently donated a prize for the charity ball event for Cancer Research at the Pavilion Hotel in Fulford.
