The jury in the trial of a driver accused of breaking a pedestrian’s eye socket are considering their verdicts.
They first left court to go to their retiring room at 2.40pm on Friday afternoon (September 27) at York Crown Court.
They were sent home at 4.30pm and will return to court on Monday to continue considering their verdicts.
Ian Shields, 37, of Gascoigne Walk, off Scarcroft Road, York, denies causing grievous bodily harm to the pedestrian and intimidating a witness.
The charges relate to two incidents in April and May last year in South Bank, York.
