An 181-year-old story is being performed in York this Christmas, in the way the author intended.
Charles Dickens’ 'A Christmas Carol' dates back to 1853. Now, Mat Jones will be bringing the tale to the stage once more performing the same original prose.
The one-man performance will take audiences back to the Victorian era, using the very text that Dickens himself used during his renowned public readings.

"A Christmas Carol is not just a story; it’s a celebration of the human spirit and the power of kindness," said Jones.
"This show aims to honour Dickens’ original work while delivering an experience that feels alive and personal. This is a performance that will resonate with both those familiar with the story and newcomers alike."
The performances in the Friargate Theatre will be taking place on December 13 and 14, at 7.30pm. Tickets can be bought online via the link here: www.vintageverse.co.uk or by phone on 01904 655317.
