An East Yorkshire poultry rearing business is celebrating after winning a regional award.
Middleton on the Wolds based Clive Soanes Broilers was announced as the winner of the Poultry Farm of the Year Award at the Yorkshire Post Rural Awards that celebrate businesses, farms, organisations and individuals that have excelled in the rural community in Yorkshire.
Clive Soanes Broilers MD, Claire Wright, said: “Our hard-working farms team thoroughly deserves this prestigious award. They always go the extra mile and the chickens’ welfare is at the heart of everything they do.”
The award ceremony was hosted by Country Post writer and judge Chris Berry at The Pavilions in Harrogate on September 26.
Named after the son of the founder of Soanes Poultry, Clive Soanes Broilers has been rearing chicken for Soanes Poultry since 1947. Clive Soanes grew the business from the 1950s until his retirement in the 1990s.
