MEMBERS of the public have been thanked after a theft in a York suburb.

North Yorkshire Police has thanked members of public in Foxwood who helped recover a stolen motorbike.

They reported the KTM 125 Duke after spotting ignition wires had been cut and thinking that the way it was parked in communal grounds in Teal Drive looked suspicious.

A police spokesman said: "We responded and launched an investigation which revealed it had indeed been stolen.

"It had been taken from another address in Foxwood overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday despite being secured by three locks.

"As part of our investigation, we’re appealing for anyone who saw the motorbike being stolen from the address in Thoresby Road or saw it being ridden in that area or around Teal Drive.

"We’re also asking anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the bike being ridden in that area at the time it was stolen.

"As ever, we’re also urging people to report anything suspicious.

"If you have information that could help our enquiries, please email ethan.sampson2@northyorkshire.police.uk

"You can also call us on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Sampson, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
