NORTH Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation after a link to an adult website, with accompanying photograph, was posted by one of their Twitter accounts.
The graphic picture was posted on X on the North Yorkshire Police’s Traffic Bureau & Road Safety Team channel at around 6:15pm last Thursday (September 26).

It was deleted shortly after being posted.
The message on the post said: “Watch charming girls get ****** on *******_com”.
In the original message, the censored parts were spelled out in full - providing a link for users to click to watch pornographic content.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We’re looking into how this happened, and that work is ongoing.
“In the meantime, we have taken immediate measures to secure the account in question.”
Since the tweet, the account has tweeted once on September 27 and shared a message regarding road safety. It is currently unknown if the account was hacked at the time of the explicit tweet.
