Two people were taken to hospital after a lorry and car crashed on a main road in York, police said.
As The Press reported, Water End was closed between its junctions with Poppleton Road and Salisbury Road after the crash at 11.45am this morning (Tuesday, October 22).
North Yorkshire Police said two people in the car, a Kia Soul, were taken to York Hospital after the crash.
"The road was closed for a number of hours while we investigated the scene and to allow for the vehicles involved to be recovered," a force spokesperson said.
Traffic was heavy on the road in both directions after the crash with drivers facing delays.
Officers urge anyone who saw the crash or the vehicles before to get in touch.
"If you can help please email jack.milner2@northyorkshire.police.uk or call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for PC Jack Milner," the police spokesperson said.
"Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
