A Halloween night at a York pub hopes to raise cash for important causes.
People are being invited to a night of music and fun at the Burton Lane Club in Clifton from 6pm on Saturday (October 26).
Club secretary Dave Beavers, along with Jeanette Clough and Caroline Harris, have organised the night, which will include fancy dress, bingo and food, to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society and Parkinson’s UK.
Dave said these charities are “very dear” to their hearts.
His brother-in-law, Steve Whitaker, died from Alzheimer’s related illness. Steve was a “fantastic bowler” for Dunnington Cricket Club, Dave explained, and his club record still stands today.
Ahead of Saturday’s event, Dave said all are welcome at the club, including children, with prizes for the best fancy dress costume.
“Come along and have a great evening,” he said.
“Come and support the club for these great charities."
