A thief who was caught stealing from a popular York gift shop has been made to apologise to its staff.
North Yorkshire Police, on Monday, issued a CCTV appeal of a woman officers wanted to speak to after a a woman entered Give the Dog a Bone, in Fossgate, at 3.10pm on Friday, October 18, selected two items but only paid for one.
The force said the woman in the image could help the investigation, urging anyone who recognises her to get in touch.
On Wednesday, a police spokesperson said officers had spoken to a woman in relation to the crime and "issued a community resolution, meaning she will apologise to the shop in person, and pay for the stolen item in full".
"Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal," they added.
