A man was punched 'multiple times' in the face in an attack by two thugs in York city centre.
North Yorkshire Police said the assault happened in St Helen’s Square on November 6, between 4am and 4.30am.
A force spokesperson said: “The victim was assaulted by two males near to benches to the left of The Ivy brasserie.
“Initially, the victim had walked from The Drawing Board in New Street and had been talking to the males, although he wanted to leave their company.
“They caught up with the victim and said they were going to beat the **** out of him.
“The suspect has punched the victim multiple times in the nose before the victim has managed to grab his wrist.
“The victim has suffered a broken nose.”
North Yorkshire Police has described both males as white, aged late 20s to 40s.
The first man is described as short build, blond hair with receding hairline, wearing a black leather jacket, like a bar uniform, and with a protruding stomach.
The second man, who the force said hit the victim, is described as a tall male, light brown receding hair, wearing glasses and had a beard.
The force has appealed for CCTV footage recorded around the time of the attack.
