A plaque has been stolen from a much-loved bear statue in York.
North Yorkshire Police says a resident reported that the plaque went missing from the statue in Chalfonts, off Tadcaster Road, overnight between November 5-6.
A police spokesperson said: "We know the the statue is a prominent and much-loved local landmark.
"We’re appealing for anyone with information about what has happened to the plaque to contact us – particularly if they have relevant CCTV or video doorbell footage of the location."
