Three York and North Yorkshire motorists have been banned from driving after they appeared before magistrates in different parts of the country.

Stephen Golton, 43, of Abbots Road, Selby, pleaded guilty to drug driving  and driving without a licence at Scarborough Magistrates Court. He was given a six-month community order with six months’ drug rehabilitation and 10 days’ rehabilitative activities.  He was banned from driving for three years, fined £480 and ordered to pay a £192 statutory surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

Harry Williams, 21, of Cattal Road, Tockwith, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Witney, Oxfordshire  when three and a half times the legal alcohol limit. He was given a 12-month community order with 180 hours’ unpaid work at Oxford Magistrates Court.  He was banned from driving for 30 months and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £114 statutory surcharge.

Two York motorists failed to respond to court summons and were convicted and sentenced in their absence.

Paul Precious, 44, of Rockingham Avenue, Tang Hall, was convicted at Harrogate Magistrates Court of failure to tell police who was driving his car when it was allegedly carelessly driven on Strensall Road, York.  He was fined £660, ordered to pay £90 prosecution costs  and a £264 statutory surcharge and given six penalty points.

Daniel Harris, of Somerset Road, off Huntington Road, York, was convicted at Hull Magistrates Court of using a mobile phone while driving in Stamford Bridge. He was banned from driving for six months, fined £220 and ordered to pay £110 costs and an £88 statutory surcharge.
