PUPILS at a North Yorkshire school have been celebrating international culture with an immersive day.

Earlier this month, Escrick CE Primary School Year Six students experienced hands-on learning at a ‘China Day’ designed as part of the pupils’ topic on ancient China.

The children gained knowledge of the nation’s history and culture and updating their Autumn term studies on the ancient Shang dynasty.

“The children have accessed their learning in a unique and memorable way, and we are grateful for the support of Qing and the other members of the church community.”

Qing, a member of the York Chinese Christian Church, said: “It was wonderful to see the children so curious and appreciative of Chinese culture.

“They engaged wholeheartedly, and it’s inspiring to know that they are learning about these traditions with such interest and respect.”
