A POPULAR city centre shop is set to close today.

Lush on Coney Street is set to close today (November 20) at 12pm - ahead of the new location opening further down the street on Friday.

As reported by The Press, the new store will be opening at 12pm on November 22. It will be 100sqm, 35% larger than the current Lush store, with the first 100 customers in the door to receive a special gift of Lush products to celebrate the expansion.

On the day, they will also be free product-making workshops on opening day and Saturday November 23 between 12 - 4pm, for customers to make their very own bath bomb to take home.

In addition to this larger store, Lush is currently running a stall at the York Christmas markets where various items from the winter selection – such as the iconic Snow Fairy range and none soap gifts, such as tote bags and pin badges.

On the new location, store manager Sarah Baker said: “With more space comes more products and we’re thrilled to be open and raring to go at our favourite (and busiest) time of the year. We can’t wait to welcome our customers so they can experience all the magic that Lush York has to offer.”
