A DRUG dealer has been jailed by a judge in York for supplying of cocaine and heroin.
Humberside Police say Joshua Smith, 28-years-old, of Greenwood Avenue, Hull appeared at York Crown Court earlier this month where he was sentenced to two years and four-months behind bars.
He was involved in an organised crime group has been jailed after he pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
On 15 April this year, officers carried out a stop and search on Smith after he was suspected of involvement in drug dealing. Upon searching him, officers recovered two mobile phones and approximately £600 in cash.
Smith was arrested and later charged with being concerned is supply of cocaine and heroin and possession of criminal property, and was remanded into custody.
Detective Inspector Matthew Grantham said: “We are committed to tackling drug dealing in our area and will take a proactive approach in conducting stop checks and putting offenders behind bars.
“Investigating and tackling serious and organised crime remains a priority for us and I’m reassured that Smith is now off our streets and is being punished for his crimes.
“I hope the sentence given today sends a clear message to anyone else involved in the supply of drugs that we will come for you, and we will do everything in our power to put you before the courts.”
