TICKETS are still available for Hollywood star Gary Oldman’s one man play in York.
Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman will be starring in Krapp's Last Tape at York Theatre Royal next year from April 14 until May 17, 2025, with a number of tickets still remaining for purchase.
The decision to perform at the Theatre Royal stems from Gary’s roots in the theatre - having started his professional career there in 1979.

Since then, his career has skyrocketed with the actor winning an Academy Award, BAFTA, SAG, BIFA and Golden Globe, in addition to featuring in blockbusters such as the Batman Trilogy, Darkest Hour, and the Harry Potter Franchise.
His performance at York is set to bring things back to his origins in the theatre as he plays the titular character in one man show Krapp’s Last Tape by Samuel Beckett, a play which tells the story of Krapp, who records a tape of the year gone by every year on his birthday.
On his 69th birthday, he has become a lonely man, and sits with a bottle of wine, a banana and his tape recorder, listening back to a recording he made as a young man, Krapp must face the hopes of his past self.
Paul Crewes, CEO of York Theatre Royal said: “The response to the news that Gary Oldman is returning to York Theatre Royal next year has been phenomenal. We had a record day on Box Office when we went on sale last week, with YTR members and regular theatre goers, partner schools and the universities all booking their tickets early.
“We were also delighted to see so many people booking tickets with us for the first time and planning to travel to York from across the country and the wider world! This is an exciting time for the city, and we can’t wait to welcome Gary back to York and York Theatre Royal in the spring."
Tickets for Krapp's Last Tape start from £25 with booking now open through the York Theatre Royal's website, or their box office: 01904 623568.
