TRAIN passengers are advised to take care and double check services are running before travelling this weekend.
Storm Bert is set to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and snow to Yorkshire between Saturday (November 23) and Monday (November 25), which may impact rail travel across the country.
According to Network Rail, travel disruption is possible for those using the East Coast Main Line.

Travellers should also be aware when travelling on the Midland Main Line and any North East rail routes.
In addition to this, TransPennine Express (TPE) is giving customers the option to change their travel plans over the weekend as the train operator has been forced to cancel services running north of Carlisle due to Storm Bert tomorrow (Saturday November 23).
Lila Tachtsi, director of engineering and asset management for Network Rail’s eastern region, said: “While our teams have been preparing for this bad weather for several days, it’s really difficult to know exactly when and where it will strike, which is why we're asking people to check before they travel.
“The best way to do that is to check National Rail Enquiries before you set out on your journey. If you live by the railway, please tie down any loose garden items - it’s amazing what can be carried by a strong gust of wind and end up on the tracks - causing unnecessary delays for passengers and freight.”
