RECORD breaking numbers have turned out for popular York school craft fair.
Despite the miserable weather of Storm Bert, hundreds of people have arrived at the York Steiner School Advent Fair today – numbers which break all previous records for the event.
The fair features a variety of activities for children and live music to accompany a variety of craft and food stalls. This includes leather goods, clothes, stuffed animals, art, acrylic earrings, alongside snacks and condiments.

Head Teacher, Ruth Crabtree said: “It obviously takes more than a storm to put people off coming to our amazing Fair. We could hardly believe it when we saw huge queues forming and we’re busier than ever this year!”
“Our parents and children have been working for months to make the school look as inviting as possible with beautiful decorations in all the rooms and all kinds of surprises for our visitors, so with our mulled wine, hot chocolate and heart-warming children’s choirs and music, it’s probably the cosiest place to be today!
“Our Advent Fair is a truly magical experience for so many local children and families and a lovely way for us to all get together and celebrate the season!”
The event is set to be held until 4pm today at the York Steiner School at Fulford Cross.
