Harrogate BID reports a cleaner town due to Street Ranger duo Samuel Ashby and Darren Jevons.

From planned deep cleans and reactive jet washes in high footfall areas, to litter picking and repairing street furniture in key locations, no two days are the same for the team as they continue their top efforts to maintain the town centre.

Since starting six months ago, the pair have done more than 500 different jobs, covering over 5,000m2 with deep cleans, plus their other daily jobs.

The new equipment lets the Street Rangers store up to 1,000l of water, which can be heated up to 100 degrees and used as a steam cleaner to remove dirt, grime and other tricky materials, such as chewing gum and moss.

The team have offered a £40,000 return on investment to BID Member businesses over the last three months, carrying out jobs that would otherwise have to be contracted in without the Street Ranger service.

Matthew Chapman, Harrogate BID Manager, said: “Following expansion earlier this year, Samuel and Darren have both been excellent additions to our team at the BID.

“They’re a top team and work very well together – as shown by the hundreds of impactful and effective jobs they have already delivered to support our Members.

“Earlier this year we brought our deep clean service in-house as we purchased some brand-new equipment. The Street Rangers have really taken on this job with open arms and a positive mindset, covering key areas of the town centre already.

“As we move closer to the festive period, the Street Rangers have a plan in place and will be quick to respond to any requests from BID Members as our town looks forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide to enjoy the Christmas offer.”
