Millthorpe School's historic pipe organ has been restored after more than a decade of silence.
Geoffrey Coffin, the original organist who installed the instrument in the school hall, has spent the last month restoring it.
From the new year onwards, the school will be offering pupils the opportunity to learn to play the organ.
Members of the public and the school community are being invited to experience the instrument’s sound at Millthorpe School’s upcoming Christmas Concert, on December 2 - when Dr Max Elliot will be playing it.
Parents and carers of children at Millthorpe can purchase tickets for the Christmas Concert on ParentPay, whilst members of the public should email the School Office at admin@millthorpe.elt.org.uk with the subject line: Christmas Concert.
Tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for under 16s.
