Murton Park brings chance to visit Santa and Mother Christmas
IT is almost the season to be merry and lots of attractions are advertising places where you can meet the big man in red!
Murton Park is offering two experiences where not only will little ones have the chance to tell Santa about their Christmas wish but they also get to have festive fun with Mother Christmas in a seasonal ‘baking’ show!
Christmas at Murton Park also features a musical train ride with Fladam Theatre about two penguins, Noel and Carol, and a walk through Santa’s Village.
Following an audience with Father Christmas, families get to have a peek at his home before going to the seasonal toy shop where little ones can choose a gift and adults can munch on a mince pie on their way to the Yorkshire Barn Café, where they can feast on a selection of festive food and drink.
For those who want something a little different, there is Tea-Time With Santa which includes a tasty meal, entertainment by Mother Christmas, and a one-to-one chat with Santa.
As well as a great value gift, there are craft activities to keep the little ones amused.
Santa is busy with the elves preparing for Christmas Eve but we managed to catch up with Mother Christmas for a chat about life at the North Pole.
“I’m up to my elbows in flour, baking at the moment” she explained “Father Christmas needs a lot of mince pies to keep him going on his trip delivering presents on Christmas Eve. Only problem is he loves mince pies so much that I’ve barely got them out of the oven, before they disappear!
"At least I think it’s Santa who is eating them. It could be the reindeer or maybe some elves but I’m almost certain I heard a ‘Ho Ho Ho’ as a plate vanished from the side this morning! I’m a little behind with my baking, as the more I bake, the more mince pies seem to vanish!
"I’ve managed to acquire a little bit of North Pole Magic and am opening my Bakehouse at Murton Park where little ones can join me in a ‘baking class’; where the only ingredients are imagination, a sprinkling of singing, a generous helping of Elfercise and some Makaton signing! I may also reveal my secret mince pie recipe!
"I’m mostly looking forward though to the light-hearted ‘Tea Time With Santa’ events where Father Christmas and I can settle down with youngsters and their families over a bite to eat.
"I may even involve them in some ‘magical mince pie making’! I may not have my North Pole ovens there but I am sure we can conjure up an ‘imaginary’ treat, one that I know Santa will absolutely love! Father Christmas and I wish you all the best of the Season’s Greetings and hope to see you at Murton Park soon!”
