The jury in the river murder trial will continue to consider their verdicts today (November 28).
They have to decide if Vincent Joseph Morgan, 47, murdered Malton woman Lisa Welford, 49, by drowning her in the River Derwent in Malton in April.
They also have to decide if he committed two offences of causing actual bodily harm by injuring her on other occasions.
Morgan, of Chandler’s Wharf, Castlegate, Malton, denies all three charges.
The 12 jurors first left the courtroom at 12.05 pm yesterday. At 4pm, the Recorder of Leeds, Judge Guy Kearl KC, called them back into court and sent them home for the night.
They will return to Leeds Crown Court this morning.
