A BRAND new £4 million food hall has opened its doors in North Yorkshire on Thursday morning.
M&S Selby Three Lakes opened the doors of a brand-new 16,000 sq ft store for customers. The new store will create 79 new local jobs in the community.
The team gathered at the store entrance with store manager Amy Johnston, who was joined by guest of honour Patricia Harriss, a local customer, to cut the ribbon and declare the store officially open on her 78th birthday.
A Percy Pig mascot was also on hand to greet customers as they experienced the store’s amazing new features for the first time.
Inside the market style foodhall, customers can find a bakery with a selection of fresh breads with each loaf made through a 30-hour process and pastries baked throughout the day.
Ms Johnston said: “Our whole team has been working really hard to deliver this fantastic new M&S Foodhall just in time for Christmas.
"It’s been great to hear from customers how much they love it today.
"When you visit the store, you’ll find a spacious design across our foodhall with great features like our fantastic M&S Bakery, M&S wine shop and our digital click and collect service, which are all designed to make shopping with us more enjoyable and convenient than ever.
"We encourage people to come and see for themselves how fantastic the new store is.”
The whole of the M&S Food range will be available in store, with more than 100 value everyday staples are available across the store, price benchmarked against key competitors and with an M&S quality point of difference – all part of the retailer’s trusted value promise.
Other highlights include a dedicated M&S wine shop, featuring an award-winning selection of popular favourites in the M&S classics range, and new varieties to discover from unexpected locations in the 'found' range, a flower shop and click and collect for online clothing, home and beauty orders.
M&S Selby Three Lakes is located at Unit G, Three Lakes Retail Park, Bawtry Road, Selby, YO8 8LY. The retail park offers free parking for customers for up to three hours.
