A worldwide coffee brand is set to open its first site in York city centre.

Black Sheep Coffee, which was founded in 2013, now has more than 70 branches worldwide - stretching as far as the United States of America and the Philippines.

The specialty coffee chain is known for being the world’s first coffee chain to use specialty grade Robusta coffee beans, as opposed to the commonly used Arabica

Its move to York comes after clothing store Lambretta moved from the corners of Spurriergate and High Ousegate - the new home of Black Sheep Coffee.

Inside, they will be serving a selection of coffees, waffles and cocktails. They also sell their own coffee beans, along with gifts and merchandise.

For High Ousegate, Black Sheep Coffee comes shortly after the opening of another fast developing hospitality chain in Rudy's Pizza, which sits a few doors down the street.
