A MUCH-LOVED York restaurant has opened the doors on its new location.
Popular Italian restaurant Marzano has now officially opened its doors to diners having moved into the former Loch Fyne building in Walmgate.

The Grade II listed Foss Bridge House building in Walmgate was built for linen drapers W W J Whitehead – before being taken over in 1915 by the FR Stubbs ironmongery, which operated from the site until the building was put on the market in 2001 and converted into a restaurant in 2006.
Speaking whilst the inside was still under construction, owner Salem Khalifa said: “As with our current location, where we preserved elements from the 1928 George Mason shop, we’re committed to honouring York’s rich history.
“This Grade II listed building appealed to us for exactly that reason. We aim to embrace the building’s historic charm while creating a more spacious and elevated dining experience for our guests.”
Whilst the previous location at 13 Fossgate is currently unoccupied with a sign in the window stating that Marzano has moved down the road, there are thoughts that something could soon occupy the empty restaurant.
At the time, Salem said 'the future is looking very bright’ on whether there were plans for the previous location.
