BUSINESSPEOPLE have heard all about networking and the range of support available to them in York and North Yorkshire.
The York Business Festival on Thursday featured events including the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, the Federation of Small Businesses and law firms and accountants.
A spokesperson for the combined authority told the Press afterwards: “York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority spokesperson said: “It was great to be able to showcase the broad array of business support offered in our region and highlight the collaboration between the Growth Hub in the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority and the local authorities."
“We're keen to ensure businesses in our region get the best support possible to boost growth and help our economy and communities thrive."

“The event was well-attended by a mixture of York and North Yorkshire businesses at different stages in their growth journey. Key discussion points that emerged from the day centred around business challenges and their ambitions.”
York St John University on Thursday also hosted a SUPERNetworking event with Carolyn Frank from the FSB and James Hilton-Scott from accountants Ian Walker & Co, as part of the festival.
Richard Wrightson and Elizabeth Sugden from the Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors team, alongside James, answered questions about business structure, what happens if you fall out with your business partners, commercial property lease versus commercial property purchase and is it better to be a limited company or a sole trader amongst others.
After the event, Sarah Edwards, marketing manager and associate, told the Press: “It was an interesting informal debate, giving expert advice to business owners.
“Thank you to Brian Littlejohn (Business School Advisory Board member) for including our event in the festival schedule and organising the logistics.”
The York Business Festival on Thursday also included events covering issues such as managing your business in the digital age, which also looked at how the use of Artificial Intelligence and other digital technologies can help grow your business.
The issue of neurodiversity in the workplace was also considered by the organisation Spectrum First.
The York Press and York St John University partnered on the festival, which began on Monday and featured a range of events, culminating in the York Press Business Awards on Friday evening at York Racecourse.
