Three North Yorkshire chippies have been named as finalists at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2025 – are they your local?

It comes as the top 10 establishments for the Takeaway of the Year award have been announced, ahead of the grand ceremony next year.

The panel of sector specialists have examined “every aspect” of the contender businesses making sure the bar is set high when it comes to industry and product expertise, sustainable business practice, environmental engagement, employee responsibility, as well as cooking the classic British staple, fish and chips.

Over the last few months, the original shortlist of 40 tackled multiple high-pressure tasks, challenges and interviews.

The line-up was reduced to 20 and now the final 10 will be waiting to see who will be crowned the Takeaway of the Year winner very soon.

3 North Yorkshire finalists at National Fish and Chip Awards

The three North Yorkshire chippies shortlisted in the final 10 for Takeaway of the Year at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2025 are:

  • The Fish Bank, Sherburn-in-Elmet
  • Mister C’s, Selby
  • The Scrap Box, York

The other seven, located around the UK are:

  • Kellaway’s Fish and Chips, Truro
  • Yarm Road Fish and Chips, Darlington
  • Angell’s Fisheries, Newark-on-Trent
  • Redcloak Fish Bar, Stonehaven (Scotland)
  • The Fish Works, Largs (Scotland)
  • Finney’s Fish and Chips, Benllech (Wales)
  • Zero Plus Fish & Chips, Cardiff (Wales)
