Forecasters expect temperatures to increase in York after a cold start to the week.
Met Office chief meteorologist Steve Ramsdale said northerly winds brought “chillier weather” across the UK which is expected to last through today (Tuesday, December 3).
Temperatures are expected to sit between 2C and 6C today then gradually increase tomorrow.
Met Office forecasters predict temperatures in York to peak at 13C on Thursday.
They warn that the weather will remain unsettled throughout the week, however, with light showers expected on Thursday and Saturday.
Windy weather is expected in York this weekend.
Gusts of 14mph are forecast to hit York on Saturday.

Experts say coastal areas of North Yorkshire are expected to experience stronger gusts of 21mph at midday on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Met Office deputy chief meteorologist, Chris Bulmer, said some areas of the UK may experience stronger winds and rain this weekend.
He said weather warnings will be issued for parts of the country as “details of the developments and hazards become clearer”, urging people to “keep up to date with the latest forecast”.
“At this time is looks like the unsettled conditions will continue into the weekend with a deep low-pressure system probably crossing the UK into Saturday bringing strong winds and rain to some areas,” Mr Bulmer said.
