Della retires in May leaving a healthy bank balance behind and a less than ailing one ahead in a force which has grown in numbers on the street and is seen to be tackling more of the problems people face. She seems to have taken the force forward with her and brought in necessary changes without dissent, which shows good strong management.

She has done well for herself and not too badly for us, in a previously man’s world, and I admire her.

Might she like to take on the NHS situation in North Yorkshire, York and Selby. for another four years, build up the existing pension a bit more and do the same there?
