New Labour and Conservatives have shared almost unopposed control over our lives for twenty years, with a minor role for Lib Dem. Their combined party membership numbers no more than a very tiny minority of our 60 million plus population, and yet it is from these that leaders are selected for every department governing our lives. Modern life is increasingly complex but the people are more astute and less gullible. They have become isolated from government and a general loss of trust and confidence in politicians and the system exists.
It is clear that power is too remote from the people and concentrated in too few hands for too long. Proof is seen in diminishing numbers of voters and the growth of radical, new political parties. Some voters still turn out for fear of loosing what little influence remains for them, but most see no point in bothering.
There is a fight to get people out on the eco vote now, but none of them can control the planet or its climate, let alone one party more than another. There are too many natural forces in the universe we inhabit with far greater influence than ours. They would be better employed joining forces to give their attention to what can be achieved and is desperately needed.
A meaningful vote for all who qualify and deserve it. We want to be involved and save our national pride, but not in the farce which now exists.
