WHY are people so shocked to see pubs all over the country shutting down?
I am just surprised there aren’t more of them closing their doors for good.
Let’s face it, for the last five or ten years or so pubs have been raising the price of a pint any time they felt like it and for no good reason, except to make a bigger profit.
The trouble with that is – unlike gas and electricity, which we don’t have any choice but to pay because they are a necessity – beer is not a necessity.
Therefore we can do without it, so we have a choice – pay high prices or do without, or in my case cut down.
People have complained over beer prices rising for years now. The breweries took no notice. All they could see were pound signs.
Well, those warnings were never taken, and this is what happens when you get greedy.
