FUNDRAISING staff at Sainsbury’s in Tadcaster have handed over £700 for St Leonard’s Hospice.

Money-raising included a series of raffles and tombolas among staff, and a special charity week with collections from customers to the store.

One of the organisers, Margaret Stephenson, said: ‘We chose St Leonard’s as our charity because we’ve all been aware of the good work the hospice does for the people of Tadcaster and all around the area, and many of us have known someone who has been cared for there.

“This £700 is just part of what we hope to raise, and we look forward to continued support from our colleagues and customers.’ Janet Morley, director of Fundraising at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: ‘We are very grateful to Margaret and her colleagues.”
