STAFF at a York store dressed up as pantomime characters to raise cash for charity.
Workers at Boots opticians, in Coney Street, have been taking part in a nationwide charity push by the chemist chain to raise £125,000 for Action For Blind People.
With the money, Action For Blind People intends to run more than 500 sessions next year, providing sporting opportunities for hundreds of blind and partially-sighted children across the UK Sarah-Jane Hardy, manager of the Coney Street store, said: “We thought, as its Christmas, dressing up as pantomime characters would be seasonal and encourage people to buy raffle tickets.
“All the staff have got involved. We have a Cinderella and of course Prince Charming, the big bad wolf, Dick Turpin, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and many more. They have been causing quire a stir.
“It’s all for a great cause and we want to say thank you to everyone who has donated so far.”
