CASTLE Howard Ox were 7-4 winners over Tiger in division one of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.

Maggie Tottie closed on 71, giving Ox a 4-2 advantage going into the pairs. Tiger’s Clair Frank and Gill Wilson narrowed the margin, before Ox captain Sandra Bruce and Wendy Shortle secured victory.

Cygnet’s Amanda Britton gamed in 22 darts, including two 121s, and Dawn Exton was also a double-ton scorer in the victory at Slipper, for whom Ann Parkyn also hit the tons.

Clifton came to life in the pairs against visitors Flag, with Lynda Kennelly closing 57 as they won the remaining games to secure victory.

Acomb’s Sarah Rankeillor denied Burnholme a whitewash as they lost 8-1, while Roz Kerr hit the tons but Slip ‘A’ fell to Cueball ‘A’s finishing prowess.

Division two pacesetters Beeswing had Vicky Sellars and Nikki Judson hitting the tons as they cleaned up in the pairs to beat visitors Shepherd ‘A’.

Second-placed Flag ‘B’ ran out 6-3 victors against Burton Club and Severus won by the same margin at Woolpack.

Tap were denied a full house by Shepherd ‘B’ captain Jacky Sargeant, who checked out on a two-dart 60.

Jenny George and Dot Sellars were last-game match-winners for Seahorse ‘A’ at Cueball ‘A’, while Tramways overcame their ‘B’ team 6-3.

Division three leaders Leeman ‘A’ defeated visitors Swan 6-3, while chasing Sun recovered from a 4-2 deficit to polish off all the pairs against Beagle.

Walnut Tree were felled by Shoulder’s final pairing of Karen Stewart and Vicky Gilligan.

Leeman ‘B’s Shelagh Kenny and Ann Reagan also snatched victory in the final game at Jubilee after colleagues Mary Dodsworth and Margaret Haley had levelled.

Acomb ‘B’s final pairing snatched a win at Red Lion.
