A YORK environmental group has thrown its weight behind a farm shop’s scheme to cut carbon emissions.
York Rotters is supporting the Farmer’s Cart shop in Towthorpe new scheme of renting a Christmas Tree.
The store is offering a Christmas tree rental service where staff will collect trees after the festive season and look after them until next year.
Catherine Bamford, York Rotters project officer, said: “This is a fantastic scheme which means less trees will be cut down.”
Meanwhile, a group of Little Rotters have decorated a Christmas tree – on display at the St Nicholas Fields Environment Centre – with items that can be composted.
