CHILDREN from two York primary schools have been given a masterclass on how to bake cup cakes.
Pupils on half-term holiday from Scarcroft Primary School, in Moss Street, and Dringhouses Primary School, in St Helen’s Road, were entertained with a Kids Cupcake Cook-In at at Hotel Du Vin, in The Mount, York. Head chef, Nico Cecchella, hosted the event in which 16 children, aged five to ten, baked and decorated the sweet treats under his expert guidance.
The session, which cost £5 – enough for the hotel to cover its expenses – allowed mums to relax with tea in the hotel’s library while their children were entertained.
Rohan Slabbert, the hotel’s general manager, said: “The children were very well-behaved and good at following instructions. The cupcakes came out surprisingly well.”
The hotel intends to offer similar cook-ins during future school holidays.
