I WRITE in agreement with John Norman’s comments (Letters, March 17), as I think it is stupid to narrow the roads.
I have seen what happened at the Heslington Road and Water Lane junctions; it just makes traffic back up more.
The proposed lane reduction in Blossom Street would make traffic back up right up to near The Mount.
I know the council is all for bicycles, but this is making traffic worse.
As for the roadworks at Hospital Fields Road, the traffic in Cemetery Road in the afternoon is horrendous.
If you’re on a bike, there’s no way you can get past all the vehicles, as they don’t give you an inch. They never seem to look in their left mirror.
