Forty Year 6 students, aged 10 and 11 from Kellington Primary School and Carlton-in-Snaith Primary School, got a taste of campus life when they visited York St John University.

The learners received a welcome lecture in a lecture hall and a tour of York St John’s newly re-developed campus. They experienced lunch in the student dining room and undertook a range of activities led by Student Ambassadors designed to give them more insight into university life. They also got involved in a business challenge to create a green company.

The visit was part of an educational aspiration-raising project taking place in Selby and the on coast. It is funded by Aimhigher York and North Yorkshire, and led by North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership (NYBEP).

The scheme also involved York St John University and Hull University Scarborough Campus.
