Dave Olsen, seven, of Huntington, York, heard about the Rotary Shelter Boxes being delivered to Haiti and told his mum that he would help raise funds for one by holding a concert.
The photo shows him handing over a cheque for £46 to Ian Stockley, the President of the Rotary Club of York, with Rotarians Adrian Radford, Don Wilson and Trevor Woodward from York Ainsty and Vikings looking on.
The handover was at a Rotary coffee morning in Poppleton which raised nearly £500 for the Rotary International campaign to eradicate polio.
When Dave learned about the campaign he said he would try and persuade his teacher at Ralph Butterfield School, in Haxby, to let him have a non-uniform day to raise funds to save youngsters from getting that disease.
