TO HELP restore public confidence in MPs, may I suggest implementing the suggestions below.

1. Once elected, MPs must hold a surgery once every two months in different parts of the constituency.

2. After a Bill is voted on in the House of Commons, the names of all MPs who voted, for or against or abstained, must be published in all national newspapers.

3. All expenses claimed by MPs must be made available under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act.

4. To avoid conflict of interests, MPs must register if they undertake any other employment and what they get paid. This register to be made available under FOI.

5. Each year, MPs must publish in their local newspaper how many days they attended the House of Commons.
