A Cutting Edge documentary shown on Channel 4 on March 25 told the moving story of seriously wounded military personnel being brought home from Afghanistan.
The aircraft, a Galaxy G70, which is generally used to transport heavy military hardware, was transformed into an air hospital.
Fabulous and dedicated medical people looked after all military on board, also the RAF personnel who flew the G70 into Afghanistan and out. Most of the time they have to fly in darkness to avoid fire from the enemy and sometimes they have to fly in daylight to get the injured home quickly as possible.
The general public doesn’t seem to understand what goes on behind the scenes to get our injured military personnel home.
