On Saturday night (15th October), me and my friend, Jenna Lock, decided to have a bit of a girly night out.

We were in Nexus and stayed till close. Being young, we thought that it was too early to go home. We decided to go for a walk. Stupid idea, I suppose, as it was around 3am on Sunday!

We walked through Marble Arch tunnel on Leeman Road. It was lit up enough, so we didn't see a problem.

We decided to make a funny video walking through there so we could look back on our night out.

There was nobody else down there. It was very quiet. When we got to the taxi rank at the train station, we decided to look at the video for a giggle.

We played it back and Jenna noticed that a man was in the video. I thought it was an actual man at first. When I looked at it, she wasn't joking! He appears in the video 3 times!

The first time is not very obvious at all. The second time is very clear and he is looking at me as I walk past. Jenna then turns the camera round to face her and he is peering over her shoulder. This is something neither of us can explain.

I thought it might be my phone playing up, but its very coincidental for this object to appear 3 times! The second appearance also is far too clear to say it's anything else.

I cried when I saw it! I had to sleep with the light on because I was so scared.

Site Editor's note

We investigated the apparition for Tarah and Jenna. Mark Graham of the Original Ghost Walk of York told us there were tales of ghosts in the area.

"There were supposedly duels fought there during times of war," he said. "One of the things that is said is that the veil betwen life and death is a thin one, and is sometimes captured in the blink of an eye or the lens of a camera."

What do you think of the girls' ghoulish experience? Has anything similar happened to you? Do you know anything about the area's history, or its reputation for ghosts?
