So far My York News has carried two poems by budding poet William Watts of York.
The Watts family has now sent us the third poem in his trilogy.
The family writes: "William's Step-Granddad has been taken very ill and he has written his poems to make him feel better.
"We have visited Dave in hospital and read him William's poems and they have certainly lifted his spirits and made him laugh.
"Dave has been in hospital since the 15th October but has been making a steady recovery. He has been looked after by some excellent staff at YDH and we would specifically like to thank the staff of York District Hospital A&E who initially treated Dave and subsequently the staff on the Acute Stroke Unit and more recently Ward 39 who have cared for him and aided his recovery."
Here is William's third poem
Dave a poem
By William Watts
Dave is poorly
I love him lots
But what I hope he doesn't get
Is lots of spots!
Dave is cheeky
And he's a good cook
But what I wonder
Is how he sticks his head in a book!
Dave is nice
He has a big grin
And how he weirdly
Puts something in the bin
He has lots of stuff
In his house
But his poor old wife
Has to put up with a mouse!
He is in hospital
In his big bed
And what he wants
Is to be fed
By William Watts
