With the London Marathon coming up this month, I thought I would let you know about my nephew Colin Goodall who is competing in the marathon for the second time, having run it last year for breast cancer and raising over £1,300.
This year he is running for Cancer Research. His mum Elizabeth Goodall (my sister) first got breast cancer 13 years ago and had a lumpectomy, then unfortunately the cancer returned 3 years ago and she had to have a mastectomy and then more recently she found that the cancer was in her breastbone and spine, and is at present undergoing treatment for this.
She has been extremely brave and positive throughout and we are all very proud of her and of Colin for running and raising the money for such worthy causes.
Your comments:
I have breast cancer too, and am a former York resident, who now resides in Canada. I read the York Press online to keep up-to-date, and after reading the story about your sister's brave fight, wanted to add my good wishes for her continued treatment to be successful, and for Colin on his marathon run for his mum. They are both very inspiring!
