York Knavesmire Harriers raced well in March as thoughts turned towards this month’s London Marathon after a difficult winter season.
In the Spenborough 20-mile race, which is ideal preparation for London, Robyn Oldham was first woman over 35 home and seventh overall with a time of two hours 28 minutes. Kevin Langhan was second in men’s 45 in 2-11 and Frank Holden third in men’s 65 in 3-53.
Other Knavesmire runners were Russell Parkinson (2-19), David Darton (2-34), Neil Kingham (2-45), Simon Drew (2-45), Colin Lea (2-49) and Andy Young (3-59).
In the Lightwater Valley ‘help for heroes’ 10k, John Oliver clocked 40 minutes 51 seconds, Nicola Lawrence 47-19, Alison Hartley 50-08, Katie Oliver 57-26 and Margaret Oliver 57-29 In the East Retford Half Mara-thon, Martin Smith timed one hour 31 minutes and Garry Moss 1-58.
