RIDICULOUS, says the nuclear industry of claims that Elvington, Strensall Common, Linton-on-Ouse and other sites in Yorkshire could be used for dumping nuclear waste. We certainly hope so.
Tony Blair's backing for nuclear power as the solution to our energy needs has got the anti-nuclear lobby worried. Its fears that an old list of potential nuclear dumping sites could be reactivated may well be unfounded. But we're glad they are being brought out into the open and debated publicly.
