AS a former striker, one-time York City ace Dave Dunmore is used to hat-tricks. But even he was left almost speechless by a triple tee-time treat on the golf course.
Dunmore and his playing partner, Eileen Thompson, posted a nett 71 to win Heworth GC's spring mixed foursomes competition.
As if that wasn't enough, Dunmore's son Michael, in tandem with Edna Berridge, finished runners-up on 73. However, there was even more cause for celebration in the Dunmore household. Dave's son-in-law Dave Smith married to Anne and his playing colleague Jean Richardson seized third place with a nett 77.
Said the head of the Dunmore clan, twice a previous winner of the Spring Mixed title with other partners: "I was delighted.
"It was quite a bit of a shock, but it's nice to have all the winnings in the one family."
