Thank you for the picture of Poppleton's Sports Day in The Press (May 31).
I was there with the Railway Institute Golden Rail Brass Band and we did have a little problem with the weather.
It rained on us as we were setting up our equipment, and then part of our tent blew down in the wind. But after we played our "big band" arrangement of Singing In The Rain, the sun came out and it was a lot brighter for the kiddies going round the Maypole.
