TEEN cricketers from York and Pocklington will go head-to-head for silverware for the second time this season.
They will contest the York and District Junior Cricket Association's PK Accommodation Under 15 League Championship Final which will be a repeat of the U15 Cup Final at Heworth on Monday (6.15pm).
Pocklington will be going for the double, having beaten York by five runs in the U15 final at Clifton Alliance a fortnight ago.
They booked their play-off final place after a seven-wicket win over Acomb while York overcame a strong challenge by Dunnington to win by 11 runs despite a fine effort by Andy Milne. The Dunnington all rounder took 4-8 and followed up with 51 in the unsuccessful run chase.
Bishopthorpe will have home advantage when they play Sheriff Hutton Bridge in the final of the Hirepoint Plate tomorrow (10am). B ishopthorpe booked their final place with a 14-run semi-final victory over Woodhouse Grange.
The BYB Cricket Supplies U11 League is approaching its play-off stage with York 'A' and York 'B' favourites to claim two places, but Copmanthorpe, Osbaldwick, Sheriff Hutton Bridge, Woodhouse Grange, Londesborough Park and Heworth 'A' are all in contention for the other two places.
Heworth's Jack Leaning recorded the first ever half-century in the U11 League when he raced to 51 against Pocklington in his allotted four overs of batting.
